This year, Take That are helping out Children In Need by gathering
together some of British music’s biggest names for a very special
fundraising concert at the Royal Albert Hall.
The all-star
line-up, who together have amassed over 50 UK number one hits, includes
Lily Allen, Dizzee Rascal, Dame Shirley Bassey, Leona Lewis, Paolo
Nutini, Mika, Snow Patrol, Cheryl Cole, Katherine Jenkins and Muse, as
well as a special performance by Take That themselves.
Gary had this to say: “It’s fantastic to be able to kick off BBC
Children in Need 2009 in such a special way. I’ve always wanted to do
something like this and I can promise a night to remember, a night that
will, I hope, play a small part in changing the lives of disadvantaged
children across the UK.”
You can get your tickets (maximum of two) by registering your details at www.bbc.co.uk/pudsey.
Tickets will be allocated through a ballot that’s open from right now
until noon on Tuesday 20th October. Successful applicants, drawn at
random, will be notified by email on Wednesday 21st October. Tickets
for the concert will start at £50.
The show will be broadcast on BBC One the weekend before the main Children in Need appeal on November 20th. Coverage of the concert will be repeated on BBC 3, Wednesday 18th November at 9.00pm, followed by highlights on Radio 2, Thursday 19th November at 8.00pm.
