Take That band member Mark Owen has written a song for X Factor 2008 contestant Diana Vickers. The singer will perform the song as her finale in her West End debut role "The Rise and Fall of Little Voice".
The song "Sunlight", received an eight-minute standing ovation after Diana sang it during the preview performance, according to organisers.
The tune was co-written by Jamie Norton and Ben Mark, and Vickers has described it as "beautiful".
Playwright Jim Cartwright told the Daily Mirror: "It had always been my intention to write an original song for the end of my play, when Little Voice finally sings in her own voice.
"However, when we first premiered it at the National Theatre in 1992 we ran out of time and a Judy Garland song was used."
He added: "When I first heard Sunlight with Diana Vickers singing it, tears came to my eyes. I was just thrilled. It was exactly what I wanted."
Owen said it was a "real honour" to be involved in writing the song.
Diana added: "Sunlight is absolutely beautiful, and it provides the perfect ending to a brilliant play."
