If you are anything like
heatworld, then your teenage years were dominated by three things – Take That (the best band ever),
Smash Hits (the best pop magazine ever) and reading about/drooling over pictures of Take That in
Smash Hits. So we are very excited to hear that a special one-off edition of
Smash Hits has
just been released that honours Take That. It’s packed full of vintage
interviews, pictures old and new and song lyrics, as well as lots of
updated stuff! You have to trust us when we say it’s completely
amazing. Of course, we would lend you our copy to prove it, but we’re
too busy licking the posters of the boys from the
Do What You Like era. Sorry.

ABOVE: Robbie and fans yesterday
ROBBIE Williams last night thanked his old Take That pals for helping him battle crippling stage fright.
The boys took to the stage last night at London’s Royal Albert Hall for a Children In Need gig organised by Gary Barlow, 38.
But it was Rob who got the biggest kick out of it after confessing it eased his stage fright developed over the years.
He said: “As I get older, the fear gets stronger.
“It happens to an awful lot of people. It is not just me, I’m reliably informed.
“It’s
one thing to put an album out and promote it but it’s another to book a
big tour and get caught half way through it and go: ‘This is
overwhelming.’
“Because it’s just me, and then there’s an awful lot of people in front of you.
“Some
evenings it’s like 80,000 people and it doesn’t bother you and then
some evenings it’s like: ‘F***ing hell, it’s 80,000 people.' ”
Rob,
35, may claim to be a pop perfectionist but he actually only spent one
day a week in the studio during the making of his latest solo album.
Battling
with JLS for the No 1 spot, Reality Killed The Video Star was produced
by Trevor Horn, 60, a studio legend who ended up slaving over the
project 24/7 in Robbie’s absence.
Stoke’s
most famous son, who split from supergroup Take That 15 years ago,
explained: “The first day that we met he was like: ‘So what hours do
you like to work?’
“And I was like: ‘Friday.’ And he laughed. And I was like: ‘No, really, I’ll come in Friday.’ And he was like: ‘Cool.’
“I think he was happy that I stayed out of the way to let him get on with it.”
With the album now out, let’s hope that we can persuade Robbie to conquer his fears and tour properly next year.

Robbie gets back on stage with Take That!
There was barely a dry eye at the Royal Albert Hall last night as an
emotional Robbie Williams was welcomed onto the stage by his former
band Take That. After opening the Children In Need gig with their hit
Greatest Day,
Take That's Gary Barlow addressed the crowd, saying, "What a beautiful
place we are in tonight. What a perfect time to introduce an old friend
of ours. Please welcome on stage, Robbie Williams!" Robbie then emerged
on stage clearly fighting back the tears, and hugged each of his former
bandmates in turn. The boys then left Robbie to perform his singles
Bodies and
You Know Me,
before they all returned to the stage together right at the end with
all the acts – including Lily Allen, Sir Paul McCartney, Leona Lewis
and more – to sing Hey Jude. Robbie admitted afterwards, "I was tearing
up before I came on." the crowd went absolutely wild! What an emotional
night.

Hey Jude
And later came the moment all TT fans had been waiting for - GARY
BARLOW and Robbie arm in arm, singing on stage together for the Children
In Need gig at London's Royal Albert Hall.
SIR PAUL McCARTNEY sat at the piano and kicked off a stunning Hey Jude
finale to the show with the mega guest list of star performers belting out
the "na na na na-na-na-na" chorus.
Then Gary, who put in months of work to make the show happen, made a quick
speech thanking everyone for taking part - as Rob playfully made signs
behind his back.
It was a heartwarming scene straight from Take That's glory days.
See more snaps from the Children In Need extravaganza in the slideshow,
below...
SIR TERRY WOGAN introduced the finale as 4,500 fans rose to their feet
in support.
LILY ALLEN, CHRIS MOYLES, JAMES CORDEN, Gaz and Rob took
centre stage in an emotional moment none of them will ever forget.
Gary said: "This was no work at all. It was a pleasure. Hopefully we will see
you all again next year."
He then walked off stage cuddling his pal Robbie - hopefully planning to
discuss the official Take That comeback.

Smart set ... Robbie and the lads
The stellar line-up had included CHERYL COLE, DAME SHIRLEY BASSEY,
LEONA LEWIS, ANNIE LENNOX, DIZZEE RASCAL, SNOW PATROL
and MUSE.
Take That, dressed in smart dinner suits, opened the show with hit single
Greatest Day.
Then came the moment that nearly set Robbie off.
Gary said: "What a beautiful place we are in tonight. What a perfect time to
introduce an old friend of ours. Please welcome on stage Robbie Williams!"

Back for good? ... Mark Owen and Robbie
Robbie came on, cuddled Gaz, waved to the crowd then embraced each of the man
band one by one.
It was a truly moving moment and the crowd went bananas.
Robbie's bottom lip was wobbling and he had to compose himself before singing
his single Bodies.
He said afterwards: "I was tearing up before I came on, knowing what was just
about to happen and what the reaction was going to be like."

For charity ... Gordon Smart talks to Robbie and Pudsey
On stage Robbie looked like he was waiting for the group hug but JASON
ORANGE, HOWARD DONALD and MARK OWEN slipped off followed
by Gary, who was choking up, too.
Rob then started a Mexican wave before singing You Know Me, his second single
from new album Reality Killed The Video Star.
Kissed
He climbed into the crowd and kissed a fan, loving every second of the
performance.
Rob finished the song slipping into an impromptu version of THE RIGHTEOUS
BROTHERS' Unchained Melody and earned a standing ovation.
I spoke to him afterwards and he said he said he couldn't wait to get back
with his old pals full time.
Of being on stage with his mates again: "We should have milked it for a lot
longer. I was trying to call them back and do a bow. It's the first time in
15 years we were together, we should have at least stayed for 15 minutes.
While they were singing I wanted to grab a mic and start singing too. It
would have to have been Back For Good.
"I'm not nervous around them any more because we've spent a lot of time around
each other now. All the bitterness and resentment has gone. We're just left
with four lovely lads who I love to pieces. It's total respect now."
Talking about a possible reunion, he added: "The ball is definitely rolling.
We don't know how to do it yet, nothing is planned but I'll be keeping the
Brits to myself. We'll save it for something special."
I poked fun at his barnet, asking if it was more JEDWARD or MORRISSEY.
He laughed: "It is supposed to be Morrissey, but it's a bit Jedward, isn't
it?"

That's great ... Fearne Cotton with Gary Barlow and Robbie Williams
He sang on Radio 1 DJ FEARNE COTTON's lunchtime show Live Lounge and
also caught up with old TAKE THAT pal GARY BARLOW.
The manband and other top names of pop and rock were at the BBC's Maida Vale
Studios in north London rehearsing for tonight's Children In Need concert at
the Royal Albert Hall.
And as I told you, plans are afoot for Robbie to join Gary and his other old
Take That mates MARK OWEN, JASON ORANGE and HOWARD DONALD
on stage for the first time in 14 years. The lads are all due to sing with SIR
PAUL McCARTNEY.
All a bit special - and yesterday Robbie and Gary put on a reunited front
as they posed with Fearne.
Meanwhile, Robbie's battle to topple JLS from the top of the
albums chart is going down to the wire. Early in the week he led the X
Factor lads by 5,000 sales. But by Tuesday night they had narrowed the gap
to 2,000.
Rob's Reality Killed The Video Star had sold 119,000 copies, as he eyes his
ninth UK No1 album. The youngsters' self-titled debut had notched up 117,000
sales.
I've got a tenner on JLS nicking it - with a growing army of young fans.

Never fog-et - The sun
BLEARY-eyed Take That stars prayed for the sun to Shine yesterday - as their
Scots flight was blocked by fog.
Groggy Gary Barlow, Jason Orange and Howard Donald were trying to get home
after partying the night away at bandmate Mark Owen's fairytale Highland
wedding.
But thick mist stopped their private jet landing at Inverness Airport - and
they were instead forced to make a 40-minute minibus dash to catch their
plane from an RAF BASE.

Hold-up ... Howard leaves Inverness
Last night, one source said: "They must have only had a few hours' kip. The
last thing they needed was their flight getting delayed."
The night before, the boys - whose hits also include Never Forget - had been
celebrating with Mark, 37, and bride Emma Ferguson, 33, at a knees-up at
luxury Cawdor Castle, Inverness-shire.
Staff had been ordered to serve drinks until 4am. But by 11am weary-looking
Gary, 38, Jason, 39, and Howard, 41, arrived at the airport to get their
plane back to London.
They were whisked away from fog-bound Inverness just half an hour later and
they hastily made arrangements to fly from RAF Lossiemouth.

Weary ... bandmate Jason at airport
But not before fan Lynn Chisholm got the greatest thrill of her life by
getting her photograph taken with her hero Gary.
Childminder Lynn had waited at the airport with a sign saying 'Please Gary
I've waited 15 years to have my photograph taken with you'.
Excited Lynn, 29, from Inverness, said: "It was amazing. He could not be nicer
and he gave me a great big cuddle. It has made my year."
It was also confirmed ex-bandmate Robbie Williams did NOT attend the
wedding at Cawdor Church, despite rumours he was smuggled in.
A source at the castle said: "Maybe he didn't want to take the limelight from
Mark."

November 11, 2009 by carinab
If that's not exciting enough, SIR PAUL McCARTNEY has also been
handed a ticket to ride into the supergroup line-up too.
GARY BARLOW has spent months masterminding the Children In Need
extravaganza, calling in favours from the great and the good of music.

Reunited ... original Take That line-up to perform
Iris Honold / Rex Features
I passed by the BBC's Maida Vale studios yesterday where the acts were
rehearsing and happened to catch a glimpse of the line-up.
CHERYL COLE, DIZZEE RASCAL, LEONA LEWIS and SNOW PATROL
are just some of the acts who will be performing together on the night.

Another legend to join in ... Sir Paul McCartney
I also clocked Gary Barlow when I was down there, dunking a digestive into a
cup of tea like he'd spent the morning Artexing ceilings - not putting
together a set list for a stellar line-up of talent.
He's a grafter that lad - and all the hard work is going to pay off.
The finale to the show is shaping up to be something spectacular.
Not only will the original Take That line-up - Gary, Robbie, MARK OWEN,
HOWARD DONALD and JASON ORANGE - play together for the first
time in almost 15 years but ex-BEATLE Sir Paul is teaming up too.
A source said: "The reunion is go. Robbie is utterly thrilled about it. He's
been dreaming of performing with Take That again for
years and now it's
going to happen.
"Gary has spent months organising the event and is determined that it will be
memorable. He's looking forward to singing with Rob again, but landing Paul
McCartney is without doubt his biggest coup.
Grafter
"They haven't decided what they are going to sing together, but something will
take shape in rehearsals today."
Rob walked out on the boy band in 1995 and had no contact with bitter enemy
Gary for the next decade.
But following 2005 documentary Take That: For The Record, the pair patched up
their differences and have recently been writing together.

Good cause ... Children In Need
Not a bad week for Robbie then.
Reality Killed The Video Star is on course to be his ninth album chart-topper
on Sunday.
It is beating JLS's self-titled debut effort by 5,000 so far, having shifted a
whopping 85,000 copies.
Maybe teetotal Rob and grafter Gaz can celebrate on Thursday night with
digestive biscuits all round?

RAF rescue Take That
10/11/2009 - 13:56:42

Take That had to be rescued by the Royal Air Force (RAF) yesterday.
Gary Barlow, Jason Orange and Howard Donald were left stranded after
bandmate Mark Owen’s Scottish wedding to Emma Ferguson due to freezing
fog engulfing Inverness Airport, prompting the military unit to step in.
After all planes were banned from taking off or landing at Inverness
Airport, RAF Lossiemouth at nearby Morayshire offered their 17-seater
Lear Jet for the ‘Greatest Day’ hitmakers.
A source said: "They must have only had a few hours sleep. The last thing they needed was their flight getting delayed."
The band were driven to the RAF base, 34 miles away from Inverness
Airport, and they were met by military police at the gate, and
underwent stringent security checks before being escorted to their
private plane to fly home.
Mark and Emma – who have two children, Elwood, three, and Willow, 11
months – married in front of 50 guests at Cawdor Church, just outside
of Inverness.
Although former bandmate Robbie Williams failed to attend either the
ceremony or reception at Cawdor Castle, other guests are said to have
included Coldplay rocker Chris Martin and his wife Gwyneth Paltrow.

Mark Owen deu o nó este domingo

O
colegas Gary Barlow, Howard Donald e Jason Orange.
Emma
«Esperei horas a fios.

BARLOW WAGES WAR ON LABELS
GARY Barlow reckons more artists will launch their own record labels after he and Amy Winehouse took on the big guns.
Gaz, whose Children In Need bash will take
place at London’s Royal Albert Hall on Thursday, has classical babe
Camilla Kerslake on his Future label.
And Wino, 26, signed her goddaughter Dionne Bromfield, 13, to her Lioness set-up.
Gary told me: “You’re going to see more singers start record companies, like me and Amy have.
“It’s a way to get new artists some guaranteed exposure.”
While he’s so busy, Gary won’t be going wild by signing up hundreds of acts.
He
explained: “I’m not looking to sign anyone other than Camilla right
now.At most, I’ll work with one artist every other year in Take That
downtime.
“I want to be there for whenever she needs advice.”
Camilla, 21, whose album is out on November 23, has been teaching Gary about the workings of the classical world.
He admitted: “She’s really opened my eyes, particularly to the production levels involved.
“In
this day and age a lot of No 1 singles are made in people’s bedrooms.
That’s great but one of the nice things about classical music is you
need to take that bit of care on it – you can’t really make it on the
cheap. It’s very luxurious.
“I’ve started buying a few classical albums for pretty much the first time.”
The classy 38-year-old denied rumours that his band will be performing at Glasto 2010.
Gary said: “There’s no truth in us playing Glastonbury – we prefer to do our own shows.
“I don’t see us being part of that festival scene, it’s just not us.”
Take That release their Circus Live DVD on November 23.

Take That
That.
A cerimónia,
A ausência
mais notada da cerimónia foi precisamente Robbie Williams, ex-Take That
e amigo de longa data de Mark Owen.
